About this event

Inspiring an understanding and inclusive community of professionals first requires examining our own awareness and perspectives. Anti-Racism in Academia (ARiA): A Learning Journey enables you to do that in a safe and courageous environment through small, confidential, virtual discussion sessions that are open to all higher education (or related non-profit organization) employees. ARiA is a 5-part discussion series : Reach Out, Listen, Learn, Act and Persist(#ROLLAP). Learn more at ariajourney.org.

For the month of October, ARiA presents our final installment of the #ROLLAP series, Part 5: Persist, in which we will discuss the importance of adopting persistence as a mindset. We must be intentional, deliberate, and consistent in our persistence to meaningfully change attitudes, practices, and policies to create a more inclusive culture and anti-racist organization.

During registration, you will be able to enroll for an “a l a carte” experience, where attendees participate in the current month's topic. This is only a 1 topic commitment facilitated in a 90 minute session. All sessions feature the same content related to #Persist, and differ only by the facilitator(s) and session date/time.

Once your enroll in a session, your facilitator(s) will be sending you a calendar invite and pre-session materials. In order to get the most of an ARiA session experience, you'll be required to participate and reflect on the pre-session work shared with you. Should all sessions get sold out, a waitlist is available. Waitlisted registrants will be contacted once a ticket becomes available.

We hope you'll attend a #Persist session to share and learn more about adapting a persistence mindset to help enact change. Remember, the work of building and maintaining an inclusive, racially equitable culture is a journey…not a destination.

**Please register for ONLY ONE session, excess registrations will be cancelled. Events are in EASTERN STANDARD TIME**
